Nature Kindergarten
School Year Programs

Full-Time Kindergarten Monday–Friday
Part time options 2,3, 4 or 5 days a week. ( spots open)
Designed for students who are looking for an engaging full day outdoor kindergarten experience! Students take part in play-based and emergent learning experiences outdoors and create friendships in a small group setting. We spend our days exploring around the forest and beach. We use our indoor space on Queen St. East to do learning activities, book time, building and art while spending the majority of the day outside. Our small ratios allow for our experienced educators to really work closely with the kids and to tailor lessons and adventures to the group.
Our Full Time Kindergarten option provides a different choice from the Ministry of Education’s full-day kindergarten program.
This program is taught by 2 passionate, patient, and fun educators with a max of 12 students.
Our Kindergarten Program combines forest school principles and philosophy with inspiration from the four strands of the updated 2026 Ontario kindergarten curriculum. This one-of-a-kind and immersive experience will ensure that your child is ready to enter grade one in the public school system or transition to the next stage of their learning journey.
Explicit teaching of literacy and math is incorporated into the daily schedule, while opportunities for learning in all subjects are integrated into outdoor exploration time.

How is this program different from public school?

What parents are saying…
"Our daughter absolutely thrived in the Nature Kindergarten program this past school year at Toronto Nature School. The small class size allowed her to develop strong relationships with each of her classmates as they worked together to discover all of the wonderful things the different seasons in our city have to offer. Getting to grow her literacy and math skills using the resources available at the beach and in the forest, sparked a deep love and appreciation for the natural world around her. Her confidence grew at the same rate as her sense of adventure, as each day's explorations were exciting and full of opportunities for learning! She was taught the importance of getting outside and experienced the joy that can be found there, no matter the weather! I cannot recommend this program enough!"
